EESL Bihar

Project Info:

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has been instrumental in executing large-scale transformation projects that help customers get more with the same energy consumption. EESL’s Street Light National Programme (SLNP) has been instrumental in replacing over 5 million street lights in over 500 cities in India, leading to 135 crore kWh of energy savings and cost saving of 742 crore (US$ 106 million) every year.

The ILP team was engaged by EESL for the installation (retrofit), dismantling, testing, commissioning, repair and maintenance of LED street lights for a period of five to seven years. ILP has installed more than 300,000+ street lights, while managing and maintaining 100,000+ installed lights. Many accolades and awards have come to ILP from EESL over the last five years.

EESL – Bihar: In Bihar, ILP has installed 100,000 LED street lights for six districts, namely Begusarai, Khagaria, Araria, Katihar, Kishanganj and Purnia. To complete this assignment, the ILP project team conducted a technical assessment of the potential requirements of infrastructure material; and procured, transported and distributed material at the respective locations. Multiple site offices and warehouses were created considering the geographical distance among allocated districts. All kinds of equipment required for repair and maintenance were arranged for, with a separate Safety and Quality Audit team. We also identified barriers that could prevent installation and made recommendations to address them in collaboration with the EESL team, Urban Local Bodies, DISCOMs and governing councils.
